Lupin Zero Anime's Latest Trailer, Cast Members Revealed

The official website of the Lupin III spin-off anime, Lupin Zero has unveiled a new trailer for the series as well as reveal more cast members. 

The trailer features the anime's opening theme, "AFRO"LUPIN'68", which is composed by Takeo Yamashita with Yoshihide Otomo arranging the song. This song is based on the original theme song of the Lupin III Part 1 anime. In addition, the anime's ending theme is titled "Lupin III Theme Song II" by Tavito Nanao. 

Taking place in the 1960s, this 6-episode mini series tells the story of Lupin III as a youth. The series will combine elements from the original manga mixed with new stories.

The upcoming series will star Tasuku Hatanaka (Ultraman Z) as Lupin III, and Shunsuke Takeuchi (Fate/Apocrypha, Ultra Galaxy Fight) as Jigen. Also part of the show's cast are:

• Saori Hayami (SPYxFAMILY) as Yoko, a key character to said story
• Yoshito Yasuhara (Space Battleship Yamato) as Lupin I, Lupin III's grandfather
• Toa Yukinari (Berserk) as Shinobu, a household maid of the Lupin family
• Toshio Furukawa (Dragon Ball) as Lupin II, Lupin III's grandfather, and a master thief

The series will be animated by Telecom Animation Film (Lupin III Part 4) and is directed by Daisuke Sato (Lupin III Part 5). The series will be written by Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) and will feature character designs by Asami Taguchi (Lupin III Part 4). Lastly, Yoshihide Otomo (INU-OH) will compose the show's music, and Seiichi Shirato (Lupin III Part 5) is credited for setting research.

Lupin Zero is set to premiere this December 16th as a DMM TV Original series.
