Wright Film and TMS Entertainment announced a new Lupin III spin-off series titled Lupin Zero.
Taking place in the 1960s, this 6-episode mini series tells the story of Lupin III as a youth. The series will combine elements from the original manga mixed with new stories.
The series will be animated by Telecom Animation Film (Lupin III Part 4) and is directed by Daisuke Sato (Lupin III Part 5). The series will be written by Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) and will feature character designs by Asami Taguchi (Lupin III Part 4). Lastly, Yoshihide Otomo (INU-OH) will compose the show's music, and Seiichi Shirato (Lupin III Part 5) is credited for setting research.
Lupin Zero is set to have its world premiere at the Anime NYC event on November 18-20. Details such as cast and release date will be revealed at a later date.
