Mausu Promotion announced that voice actor Tamio Ohki passed away last December 14th due to an unspecified illness. He was 89.
Ohki is best known to most fans as Chief Aramaki in Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence films. The actor made his debut in 1968 with Kyojin no Hoshi as Shigeru Suzuhara.
His other notable roles include: Voltes V's Professor Sakunji/Hook, Daimos' General Miwa/Harris, Gunbuster's Captain Tatsumi Tashiro, The☆Ultraman's Hellar, Flame of Recca's Genjuro, Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc's Nenji Kashiwazaki, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's Tompetty. Lastly, he also dubbed Professor X in the X-Men movies and Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
