Mill Creek announced last July 10th, Ultraman Day that Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, and Ultraman Gaia, collectively known as TDG will get a North American DVD release this year!
As to why the three shows are only available on DVD, according to the press release coming from SciFi Japan, Tsuburaya doesn't have the 1080p HD masters of both shows. All three shows were released on Blu-ray in Japan.
Ultraman Tiga is the 12th overall entry of the Ultra Series, and the first new series in the franchise after 15 years. In the series, GUTS deciphered an ancient prophecy regarding the return of two horrifying monsters that menaced the world 30 millions years ago. As predicted, the two beasts reappear, and demolished everything in their path. As GUTS battles these creatures, they discovered a Pyramid of Light containing statues of three gigantic Ultra Warriors. GUTS member Daigo joined with one of those warriors, and thus Ultraman Tiga is reborn!
The release will also contain the special, Ultrman Tiga Side Story: Revival of the Giant of Light, which takes place in the far future of the series. The set cost US$34.99 and is set for an October 5th release.

Finally, Ultraman Gaia is the 14th overall entry of the Ultra Series. In the series, we see a conflict between two Ultraman with differing philosophies about protecting mankind and the Earth from giant monsters and aliens. One is a man named Gamu Takayama who transforms into Ultraman Gaia and joins the X.I.G., the other is Hiroya Fujimiya, who transforms into Ultraman Agul and has his own agenda.
The release will also contain the films, Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna & Ultraman Gaia: The Battle in Hyper Space, and Ultraman Gaia: Once Again. The set cost US$34.99 and is set for a December 7th release. Finally, once all three releases are together, it will form a special spine mural art!
