Aniplex has unveiled the second teaser trailer for the upcoming Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online II anime at the AnimeJapan 2024 event.
The cast from the first season will all reprise their respective roles for the new season, most notably Tomori Kusonoki as Llenn. Other returning cast members include: Yoko Hikasa as Pitohui, Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh, and Kazuyuki Okitsu as M.
Just like the first season, the upcoming season will be once again animated by Studio 3Hz (Flip Flappers), and will feature returning staff members from the previous season, namely: director Masayuki Sakoi (Princess Resurrection), series script supervisor Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia), and chief animation director/character design Yoshio Kosaki (Chaos;HEAd).
Based on the spin-off of the same name written by Keiichi Sigsawa, the series takes place in the world of Gun Gale Online (GGO), the series follows Karen Kohiruimaki (voiced by Tomori Kusunoki), a 6-foot-tall college student who's insecure of her height and is bad at dealing people in real life. In GGO, her avatar is the less than 5-foot-tall Llenn and wears all pink.
Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online II is set to premiere this October. Lastly, the show's first season will get a rebroadcast in July.
