Soul of Chogokin GX-101 Daitetsujin 17 Official Images Revealed

Bandai Tamashii Nations posted the official images of the Soul of Chogokin GX-101 Daitetsujin 17 from the Daitetsujin 17 TV series.

​Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, who is best known for Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009, the original Daitetsujin 17 series follows Saburo Minami, a young boy whose family was killed by the evil organization known as Brain. To avenge their deaths, he finds an abandoned robot once belonging to Brain and using the included helmet, he controls the eponymous Daitetsujin 17 (one-seven)! 

The original Chogokin DX Daitetsujin 17 was first released in 1977 and has sold an astonishing quantity of 1.66 million units, making this the most sold item in the Chogokin DX line. 45 years later, it is the 101st entry of the Soul of Chogokin GX line. 

The new Soul of Chogokin GX-101 Daitetsujin 17, aside from transforming into its really poseable robot mode, which stands 180mm tall, it can also transform into its two other modes, namely: Fortress One Seven and Flight One Seven. While in those modes, you can store the multiple included vehicles, namely: Shigcon Tank, Shigcon Jet, and two kinds of SAB Machines. The set also comes with extra hands. 

Other features of the mecha mode are also included. This includes the lights on Daitetsujin 17's head while the Graviton unit is in the body, and you can open the chest panel to insert or remove the Graviton unit. In addition, opening its chest and shins will reveal various missile ports and smokescreen generators. The lights and sounds of the mecha are properly reproduced as well. 

The Soul of Chogokin GX-101 Daitetsujin 17 cost 19,800 yen and is set for a March 2022 release.
