YouTuber Chris Cantada posted the pilot episode of Carpioman, an original tokusatsu based around the Filipino myth of Bernardo Carpio.
In the pilot, we meet Nardo (played by Jerald Napoles), a struggling single father cursed with superpowers. Over the course of the series, he'll face trials and tribulations to become the hero his daughter knows him to be: Gigantic Archipelago Defender Carpioman!
The pilot is directed by Miko Livelo and Mihk Vergara, the same team behind Blue Bustamante, a film about a single father who worked in Japan, and ended up playing the suit actor of a Blue Hero in a Japanese Sentai series. Said film is still streaming in full on YouTube for free via Cinema One.
