Nintendo announced at this year's E3 that Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch.
The first Metroid Prime was first released in 2002 for the GameCube and was developed by Retro Studios. The said game was followed by two sequels, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004), and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007), both of which are also developed by Retro Studios.
In a report by IGN, it is revealed that Retro Studios will not be working on the fourth game, but instead by a "talented new development team" as revealed Nintendo's Bill Trinen in a group interview. Even if that's the game, Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe will oversee the said game.
Metroid Prime 4 has no release date as of this writing.
