The official live-action Oshi no Ko project website revealed the first trailer and the staff for the upcoming project.
Based on the manga with the same name by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, the series starts with Goro, a gynecologist and idol fan who was surprised that his favorite idol, Ai announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Goro realize that he's about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense.
The series and film will star former =LOVE member Nagisa Saito as Ruby, former Nogizaka46 member Asuka Saito (live-action Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) as Ai, and Kaito Sakurai (live-action Blue Spring Ride) as Aqua. Also part of the cast are: Nanoka Hara (Suzume) as Kana Arima, Mizuka Kayashima (Kyouso no Musume) as Akane Kurokawa, and ano (Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction) as Memcho.
The filmmaker known as Smith (Inside Mari) will direct both the TV series and film. In addition, director and former actress Hana Matsumoto (Kimi to Nara Koi o Shitemite mo) will co-helm the series with Smith. Ayako Kitagawa (Tokyo Love Story) will write the scripts, and the band fox capture plan (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) will compose the music. Lastly, Toei's Ryusuke Imoto will produce the project.
The 8-episode series is set to premiere this November 28th on Prime Video worldwide, while the sequel film, which will premiere after the series is set for a December 20th theatrical release in Japan.
