The spin-off to the Hakuoki game series, the Hakuoki SSL ~sweet school life~ is getting a live-action film adaptation.
Titled "Hakuoki SSL ~sweet school life~ The Movie~" stars the same cast of the previous live-action TV series and stage play. The film stars Yuichi Nakamura (Kamen Rider Den-O) as Toshizo Hijikata, Toshiyuki Someya (The Prince of Tennis musical) as Hajime Saito, Atsushi Kimura (The Prince of Tennis musical) as Soji Okita, Mashu Ishiwatari (The Prince of Tennis musical) as Heisuke Todo, Seiya Nagaki as Sanosuke Harada, Katsuhiko Ibuka as Chikage Kazama, and Miku Ono (Yukemuri Sniper) as Chizuru Yukimura.
In addition, the film feature Kazuki Kato (Kamen Rider Kabuto) and the musical group Blu-BiLLioN as guest stars. More on Blu-BiLLioN, they also perform the film's theme song "Refrain". The teaser trailer above will feature a different footage compated to the final film.
In this spin-off based on the popular romance adventure, instead of taking place in the Bakumatsu era, it takes place in the modern era and they are now high school students, not members of the Shinsengumi police force and stars a female student who enrolled in a former boys' school, making her the first and only female student in the campus. The upcoming film takes place before the regular February exams.
