The staff of the live-action Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day drama special has revealed the special's release date and a shot of the cast with their children counterparts!
Playing the kid counterparts of the main cast are (from left to right): Santa Takahashi as Poppo, Chinami Yoshioka as Anaru, Minamide Ryouka as Jintan, Kanon Tani as Menma, Ruiki Satou as Yukiatsu, Karen Ichihara as Tsuruko. The first scene featuring the kids will feature them playing hide-and-seek in a poppy field located in Chichibu.
The special is directed by Masaki Nishiura (Densha Otoko) with scripts by Yoshihiro Izumi (Ranma 1/2). The special is planned by Yuta Kano (One Piece) and is produced by Sumi Asano (Sazae-san live-action special). The special will feature the theme songs from the anime series, namely "Aoi Shiori" by Galileo Galilei and Silent Siren's cover of "secret base ~Kimi ga Kuretamono~" as opening and ending themes, respectively.
The special, which will premiere on September 21st will air from 9pm-11:18pm.
