The film is directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro (Psycho-Pass) and will feature the action filming team of the live-action Rurouni Kenshin films working on the said project. Satoh, a fan of the source material said that he read the manga two years ago and wanted to make it into a film.
Ajin previously inspired a 3D CG anime films trilogy, two TV anime seasons, and three original anime DVDs by POLYGON PICTURES.
