They are petrified in midst of a town turned to ruins. As Gyaos sets its sight on them, a huge turtle-shaped kaiju appears in front of the boys. Its name is Gamera. Despite its injuries, Gamera fights Gyaos with all its might. This would only mark the beginning of the boys' "Summer of Kaiju".
The series will have six episodes, will be animated by studio ENGI (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) and is directed by Hiroyuki Seshita (Godzilla Anime Trilogy) with Keisuke Ide (Lupin III vs. Cat's Eye) serving as assistant director. In addition, Seshita, along with Kenta Ihara (Uncle From Another World) and Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100) will write the series. These three, along with Tetsuya Yamada (Knights of Sidonia) will also pen the scripts. Gamera -Rebirth- is set to premiere this September 7th on Netflix.
