TBS announced that Yugo Kobayashi's Fermat's Cuisine manga will get a live-action series adaptation.
The series will star Fumiya Takahashi (Kamen Rider Zero-One) as Gaku Kitada and Jun Shison (Ressha Sentai ToQGer) as Kai Asakura.
In the series, Gaku Kitada is gifted in mathematics, but he gave up his dream as a mathematician. He now spends his days without purpose, but this change when he meets a genius chef named Kai Asakura. Kai leads Gaku into the culinary with Gaku later joining Kai's two star restaurant K, where talented chefs from all around the world work and learn together. There, Gaku learns about cooking and develops his own recipes derived from mathematical thought.
Written by Yusuke Watanabe (GANTZ) and Kisa Miura (She Was Pretty), and directed by Yasuharu Ishii (Hana Yori Dango Final), Shunichi Hirano (Tokyo MER: Mobile Emergency Room), and Maiko Iuchi, Fermat's Cuisine is set to premiere this October.
