Prototype announced that Clannad visual novel will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this spring.
The upcoming release will feature both Japanese and English text, as well as a new 5.1 surround sound mix, full touchscreen support, and an English Dangopedia from past English releases of the game.
Visual Art's/Key's original visual novel of the same name was originally released for the PC and was later ported to the PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita, Xbox 360, and in phones in Japan. This is the first time the visual novel was made available in a Nintendo console. The game was later adapted into an anime movie and two TV anime series.
The series follows delinquent high school student Tomoya Okazaki, who meets a girl named Nagisa Furukawa, a girl who is repeating her last year of high school due to illness. Tomoya gets involved with Nagisa's life and her hopes in restarting the school's drama club.
