Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Anime's New Poster, More Returning Cast Announced

NHK and the official Cardcaptor Sakura anime website has unveiled the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card anime's new poster and announced more returning cast members. 

These returning cast members are:

• Hideyuki Tanaka as Fujitaka Kinomoto, Sakura's father
• Yumi Touma as Spinel Sun
• Ryoka Yuzuki as Nakuru Akizuki/Ruby Moon
• Issei Miyazaki as Takashi Yamazaki, Sakura's classmate
• Miwa Matsumoto as Chiharu Mihara, Sakura's classmate
• Emi Motoi as Naoko Yanagisawa, Sakura's classmate

Taking place after the end of the original TV series, Sakura is now in middle school and that she is having strange dreams. The cast of the original TV anime will reprise their roles in the sequel. 

But before watching the new series, an original anime DVD, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Prologue - Sakura and the Two Bears was released last September 13th, and was bundled with the special edition copies of the 3rd volume of the Clear Card Arc manga. This OAD features an original story that connects the previous Sakura Card Arc and the Clear Card Arc as the story takes place prior to the start of the Clear Card Arc.

The director of the first anime and the two anime films, Morio Asaka returns to direct the new anime while CLAMP's Nanase Ohkawa writing the scripts of the new series. Lastly, Studio Madhouse returns to animate the series. The new anime series is set for a January 7, 2018 release on NHK BS Premium.
