It was announced that actor Shunya Kaneko will join the cast of the upcoming Ultraman Trigger TV series.
He will play the role of Akito Hijiri, Kengo/Ultraman Trigger's rival, and the 18-year-old genius engineer of the expert team, GUTS-Select. Hijiri is also in-charge of development at GUTS-Select and was the one who designed the GUTS Sparklence, Kengo's transformation item, along with the GUTS Hyper Keys and various gadgets and vehicles used by GUTS-Select.
Valued for his uncommon talents by Sizuma Foundation chairman Mitsukuni Shizuma, he works as a genius engineer while attending the same high school as Mitsukuni's daughter, Yuna, who he grew up with and has a slight crush on.
Directed by Koichi Sakamoto (Ultraman Geed, Kamen Rider Fourze), Ultraman Trigger is set to premiere on July 10th, Ultraman Day on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
