It was announced at today's Nintendo Direct that Pyra & Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game as DLC characters.
First making their debut in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch, Pyra & Mythra are the personalities of a powerful and legendary Blade called Aegis, which is wielded by Rex, the game's main protagonist. Similar to Zelda & Shiek's mechanic from Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you can swap in between the the two characters. Though he is not playable in the game, Rex is part of the duo's Final Smash.
Pyra & Mythra are part of the game's second Fighters Pass, which includes Arms' Min Min, Minecraft's Steve and Alex, and Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth. The Fighters Pass cost US$29.99 and it will include six different characters, two of which are yet to be revealed. You can also purchase each brand new individual character for US$5.99. Aside from the new character, the DLC will also include additional music and a brand new stage.
Pyra & Mythra will be available starting this March.
