The author revealed that Motoko's hair color in the original manga is a shade of indigo and is thankful that the new anime's hair color is the same. Takaya is also supervising the anime and every aspect of the new anime has her approval. She commented, "I said 'Yes' after confirming as much as could about all aspects [of the anime]. There are no people involved in the production that will just make selfish decisions about the characters and story and move forward. I'm so relieved... since not everyone is good at that."
Fruits Basket Season 1 is set for an April 6th premiere at 1:23am on TV Tokyo, before airing an hour later on both TV Osaka and TV Aichi.
