Fruits Basket Season 1 Anime's 3rd Trailer, Theme Songs Revealed

The official Fruits Basket anime reboot website has unveiled that this is just the 1st season of the new anime, the third trailer, and the show's theme songs. The new series will adapt the entirety of the manga.

Aside from the new trailer, the Beverly will perform the show's new opening theme "Again", while Vickeblanka will perform the show's new ending theme "Lucky Ending". The show's Japanese release will feature an all new cast as requested by series creator Natsuki Takaya. The upcoming series stars Manaka Iwami (Maquia) as Tohru Honda, Nobunaga Shimazaki (Date A Live) as Yuki Sohma, Yuuma Uchida (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) as Kyo Sohma, and Yuichi Nakamura (Fairy Tail, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters) as Shigure Sohma.

The series will be animated by TMS Entertainment (Lupin III, Detective Conan) and is directed by Yoshihide Ibata (FLCL Progressive) with Taku Kishimoto (Silver Spoon) writing the series. The series will feature character designs by Masaru Shindou (Macross Delta). Lastly, Takaya herself will also serve as the show's executive producer. 

The original manga follows Tohru Honda who starts living in a tent after a family tragedy. She soon find out that she pitches her new home on the private land belonging to the mysterious Sohma clan and eventually discovers their family secret. Turns out that when touched by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac!

Fruits Basket Season 1 is set for an April 6th​ premiere at 1:23am on TV Tokyo, before airing an hour later on both TV Osaka and TV Aichi.
