In addition, Sori told Oricon that he has a deep affection for the story that tells the "truth of living" and states that turning FMA into a movie is one of the reasons why he is living. He also revealed that he will use film techniques that will challenge Hollywood and plans to use a type of CG that he wants the audience to see and places that the audience won't notice it in great quantities.
The film will star Hey!Say!JUMP member Ryosuke Yamada (live-action Assassination Classroom movies) as Edward Elric, Tsubasa Honda (live-action Ao Haru Ride) as Winry Rockbell, and Dean Fujioka (live-acton Happy Marriage!?) as Roy Mustang. Filming will begin in Italy this June and will wrap up in Japan in the second half of August. The live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film is set for a winter 2017 release in Japan.
