The official live-action Back Street Girls - Gokudols- film Twitter account announced that the film will also get a live-action drama series.
The upcoming film's director Keinosuke Hara (Code: M, Arakawa Under the Bridge JDrama) will direct the upcoming series with Hidehiro Ito, Kouta Fukihara, and Midori Satou writing the scripts. The series theme song titled "Koishite Koishite Yashinatte" will be performed by Ryuujin Kiyoshi with the ending theme being performed by a different artist every week.
The main cast of the upcoming film will reprise their roles for the drama. The film stars: Jin Shirasu (Erased JDrama) & Natsumi Okamoto (Kakegurui JDrama, Kamen Rider 1) as Kentaro Yamamoto, Reiya Masaki (All Esper Dayo!) & Ruka Matsuda (Kamen Rider Ex-Aid) as Ryo Tachibana, and Masato Hanazawa (Rikuoh) & Akane Sakanoue (Ultraman X) as Kazuhiko Sugihara. In addition, joining them for the drama series are: Arisa Komiya (Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters) and Hideo Nakano (Shinjuku Swan II).
The series will have a total of six episodes and will air on MBS and TBS' Dramaism block on February 17 and February 19 respectively.
