To those who are unfamiliar with the original Kamen Rider BLACK story, Nobuhiko Akizuki, before he became Shadow Moon in the series only appeared in just first few episodes, and the only time his face actor appear on screen is via flashbacks. Once he becomes Shadow Moon, he never appears in his regular human form, and is voiced by a different actor. It is unknown if the upcoming reboot will take a similar approach.
A reboot of the classic Kamen Rider Black TV series, the film will be directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (Kyoaku, The Blood of Wolves) with scripts written by Izumi Takahashi (live-action Tokyo Revengers film), concept visuals by Shinji Higuchi (Heisei Gamera Trilogy, Shin Godzilla) and Kiyotaka Taguchi (Ultraman Z) as special effects director. Kamen Rider Black Sun is set for a 2022 release.
