The official Chihayafuru anime website announced that the show's upcoming third season of the anime will be delayed to October.
Originally slated for an April release on on NTV's AnichU programming block. The reason for the delay wasn't revealed, but the staff stated that they will "work hard to deliver a superior work." The anime was planned to run for a half a year, giving the season at least 24-25 episodes just like the previous two seasons.
The three cast members of the previous two anime seasons, namely: Asami Seto, Mamoru Miyano, and Yoshimasa Hosoya will reprise their roles as Chihaya Ayase, Taichi Mashima, and Arata Wataya respectively. Anime studio Madhouse will once again animate the series with director Morio Asaka returning to direct it.
