TV Tokyo recently announced a new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime titled Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!, making this the eighth overall anime series since Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
Taking place in Mutsuba-cho, the birthplace of "Rush Duel", we follow the Odo siblings, Yuhi (voiced by Toshiki Kumagai) and Yuamu (voiced by Koko Fukushima) as they run UTS, a gr that gets rid of troublesome aliens. One day they find a spaceship, and inside they find an alien from planet Belgar named Yudias (voiced by Arthur Lounsbery). Yudias has come to Earth to search for Rush Duel to hopefully lead him and his friends, who were chased out of their star system into a new future. But Yudias doesn't know anything about Rush Duel, and is challenged by Yuhi to a duel.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens director Nobuhiro Kondo will direct the anime with studio Bridge returning to animate the series. Naoto Hashimoto (Street Fighter II V), who also worked on Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens will serve as the show's assistant director. More staff members from Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens that are returning to work on Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! are: Toshimitsu Takeuchi as script supervisor, Masahiro Hikokubo in charge of the duel layout, Kazuko Tadano & Hiromi Matsushita as character designers, and Hiroshi Yamamoto as the show's sound director.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! is set for an April 2022 premiere in Japan.
