Last update: March 13, 2020.
Here's the final part of my WHO SUBS WHAT Series of the four major tokusatsu franchises and this time, I will be focusing on Ultraman.
Due to Mill Creek Entertainment acquiring the rights of the entire Ultraman catalog in North America, all shows that were released by Mill Creek will be in Red. So please support the official release.

Ultra Q

GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Shout! Factory (Licensed)
NOTES: Shout! Factory released the series in a single DVD set back in August 13, 2013. Interesting enough, instead of releasing the colorized version of the series, Shout! Factory's release is the original black and white version.

After Mill Creek obtained the rights of the entire Ultraman catalog in North America, Shout! Factory's Ultra Q release is now out of print.

Ultraman
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Midnight Crew Subs
NOTES: Mill Creek has the license for both Blu-ray and DVD release for the series in North America. Mill Creek's earlier DVD release of the series includes the English dub. Only take Midnight Crew Subs if you are living outside of North America.

Ultraseven
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Shout! Factory (Licensed)
NOTES: Like all later releases of Ultraseven, the show's 12th episode "From Another Planet with Love" is not included in the release as this episode is still banned in Japan. Mill Creek's release retained the original numbering and acknowledged this lost episode in its release.

Return of Ultraman
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed)
NOTES: This is the first time Return of Ultraman is legally available in North America. Hikari-Senshi only subbed 11 of the series, but for some unknown reason, the download links for the subbed episodes went missing in their official download page. As for the Malaysian bootleg subs, they are understandable that you get what's going on.

Ultraman Ace
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Malaysian Bootleg Scrubs
NOTES: This is the first time Ultraman Ace is legally available in North America. An unknown user posted the entirety of Ultraman Ace subbed in English. Take note, these subs are scrubs of the English subs found in those Malay bootleg DVDs.

Ultraman Taro
GROUPS: mSubs (Episode 1) | Malaysian Bootleg Subs | Yongou Over Yonder (Scrub)
NOTES: mSubs only subbed one episode of the series as a one-off thing. Ultraman Taro has bootleg subs circulating online. Based on one episode that I checked, the subs are understandable and that you get what is going on in the episode.

This is Yongou Over Yonder's first Ultraman scrub project, which is basically a clean-up of pre-existing subs, which fixes any issues related to it. YoY plans to work on all 53 episodes of the series.

Ultraman Leo
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | Shout! Factory TV (Licensed)
NOTES: The series aired in Hawaii with English subs. Just like Mebius and Max, the series was officially licensed by Crunchyroll.... until the site stopped streaming the series last October 14, 2018. You can still watch the series on Shout! Factory TV for free. Please support the official release.

Ultraman 80
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed)
NOTES: Just like Leo, Mebius and Max, the series was officially licensed by Crunchyroll..... until the site stopped streaming the series last October 14, 2018. That said, the series is still streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

Ultraman Tiga
GROUPS: Midnight Crew Subs | 4KIDS | Ultrafanz (Revival of the Ancient Giant) | TV-Nihon (Tiga & Dyna, Final Odyssey)
NOTES: The licensed copies for Ultraman Tiga is currently out of print. TV-Nihon only subbed the Ultraman Tiga & Dyna team-up, The Final Odyssey films, and Ultraman Tiga & Dyna & Gaia team-up.

Ultraman Dyna
GROUPS: TV-Nihon | MegaBeast Empire & Hi no Tori
NOTES: This is the first time the two groups teamed up for one show. Hi No Tori will release the show in hardsub mp4 format, while MegaBeast Empire will release the show in softsub mkv format. TV-Nihon subbed the main series, which also includes the spin-offs and the crossover films.

Ultraman Gaia
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed) | Hikari-Senshi
NOTES: Ultraman Gaia is the 7th Ultraman title that is officially licensed by Crunchyroll, which you can watch for free. Like all of their releases, Crunchyroll's release does not include the movies. Please support the official release. Hikari-Senshi only subbed 6 episodes of the series.

Ultraman Neos
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | Hi no Tori Fansubs
NOTES: This is Hi no Tori Fansubs' first finished Ultraman project. The series is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

Ultraman Cosmos
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | Genm Corp (The First Contact & The Blue Planet) | TV-Nihon
NOTES: TV-Nihon subbed the movie leading to the TV series with intentions to sub the rest of the series, but because of TOKU picking the rights for the series, they dropped the project. TOKU is streaming all 65 episodes of the series in their streaming service. Sadly, this does not include the movies that tie-in to the series. Please support the official release.

Genm Corp on the other hand, has subbed the first and second movies. It is still unknown if the group has intentions in subbing the third movie.

Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy
GROUPS: The Rubber Mantis
NOTES: This is Rubber Mantis' first Ultraman project.

Ultraman Nexus
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed) | Ultraman-Nexus.com | TV-Nihon
NOTES: Ultraman Nexus is the 6th Ultraman title that is officially licensed by Crunchyroll, which you can watch for free. Sadly, release does not include the specials and Episode 29's Director's Cut. The series also officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires.

Ultraman-Nexus.com's release on the other hand, includes the complete series and Episode 29's Director's Cut. Even if that is the case, please support the official release.

Ultraman Max
GROUPS:  Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TokuPlex
NOTES: The series was officially licensed by Crunchyroll..... until the site stopped streaming the series last October 14, 2018. That being said, for fans who missed the series while it was streaming, the subs for the series were archived by fans and you can find download and torrent links of said subbed episodes online.

In addition, the series was dubbed in English for Cartoon Network Philippines, I am not sure if someone uploaded the English dubs for the series.

Ultraman Mebius
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed) | Fushigi-chan Fansubs & Ultrafanz | Grown Ups In Spandex (Mebius Gaiden) | TV-Nihon (Superior 8 Ultra Brothers)
NOTES: The series was officially licensed by Crunchyroll..... until the site stopped streaming the series last October 14, 2018. Thankfully, TOKU is also officially streaming the series in their service. TOKU's release includes the original series and the Ultraman Mebius Side Stories, namely: Hikari Gaiden and Ghost Reverse.

Fushigi-chan's release on the other hand, includes the complete series, the Ultraman Hikari Gaiden, and the Ultraman Mebius and the Ultra Brothers film. Grown Ups In Spandex on the other hand, only subbed the Ultraman Mebius Gaiden - Ghost Reverse special. Lastly, TV-Nihon only subbed the Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers film.

UltraSeven X
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | TV-Nihon
NOTES: The series is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | Grown Ups in Spandex & jettojaguar
NOTES: The group only subbed 12 episodes of the series, and as of July 2016, the group has no plans in finishing it as the translator of the project left the group. The last episode scrubbed by JettoJaguar was based on the show's HK subs.

The series is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | Ultrafanz | Dodgy
NOTES: Dodgy's subs are from a bootleg DVD, and is said that its quality is on part with your average fansubs.

The series is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

Ultraman Retsuden
GROUPS: Grown Ups in Spandex
NOTES: Since Ultraman Retsuden is essentially a clip show/chronicle/anthology show, no one has interest in subbing it.

Neo Ultra Q
GROUPS: TOKU (Licensed) | MegaBeast Empire
NOTES: As of November 2016, the group only subbed 6 episodes out of the 12 episodes of the series. The series is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

New Ultraman Retsuden
GROUPS: Over-Time
NOTES: Over-Time started subbing the series after Ultraman Ginga's first half ended. The group only subbed 25 episodes of the anthology, which also covers 11 episodes of Ultraman Ginga.

Ultraman Ginga
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | Over-Time | TV-Nihon
NOTES: This is Over-Time's 1st Ultraman project, which also includes some episodes of New Ultraman Retsuden. The group also subbed the EX episode. Ultraman Ginga is the 8th Ultraman title that is officially licensed by Crunchyroll, which you can watch for free. The Crunchyroll release also includes the first Ultraman Ginga Theater Special. Please support the official release.

TV-Nihon also subbed the first Theater Special and the EX episode.

Ultraman Ginga S
GROUPS: Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed) | Short Stick Subs | GingaAnon | mSubs (Movie) | Tsuburaya (Ultra Fight Victory)
NOTES: This is the 1st Ultraman project of both groups. Ultraman Ginga S is the 9th Ultraman title that is officially licensed by Crunchyroll, which you can watch for free. Like all of their releases, Crunchyroll's release does not include the movies. The series also is officially licensed by TOKU and is streaming on TOKU's Amazon Prime channel, which is an add-on for your Amazon Prime account for US$ 3.99 a month after the trial period expires. Please support the official release.

For a limited time, Tsuburaya's official YouTube channel streamed the Ultra Fight Victory spin-off in individual episodes, and later as a single episode. Thankfully, there are fans who salvaged it before Tsuburaya removed the shorts in their channel.

Ultraman X
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed)
NOTES: This is the first simulcasted release of an Ultraman series in Crunchyroll's streaming service. Mill Creek's release will include both the TV series and the movie. TV-Nihon on the other hand, only subbed the movie.

Ultraman Orb
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Crunchyroll (Licensed) | TOKU (Licensed) | TV-Nihon (Ultra Fight Orb, Origin Saga, Movie) | Genm Corp (Origin Saga)
NOTES: This is the second simulcasted release of an Ultraman series in Crunchyroll's streaming service.

Both TV-Nihon and Genm Corp subbed The Origin Saga. In addition, it is still unknown when will the show be legally available on Amazon Prime worldwide as it is one of the shows announced that is part of their line-up. Mill Creek has released the entire Ultraman Orb Chronicle that Tsuburaya has released thus far in home video and streaming.

Ultraman Geed
GROUPS: Mill Creek (Licensed) | Crunchyroll (Licensed)
NOTES: This is the third simulcasted release of an Ultraman series in Crunchyroll's streaming service. Mill Creek's release includes both the TV series and the movie.

Ultraman R/B
GROUPS: Color Timer Subs | Genm Corp
NOTES:  This is Color Timer Subs' first Ultraman project. As of August 10, 2019, Genm Corp only subbed 19 episodes of the series. This is one of the shows Mill Creek has plans to release later this year.

Ultraman Taiga
GROUPS: Genm Corp
NOTES: Genm Corp also subbed the Ultraman Taiga Audio Dramas.

NOTES NOTES IN REGARDS WITH THE LIST:
  • Will update this post constantly.
  • If the series gets licensed, I will remove the download link of the fansub. It's your job to Google the fansubbed release yourself. This only applies to official streams and physical copy releases of the series, TV broadcasts does not count.
  • The list only includes live-action TV shows and their related spin-offs. One off Ultraman films, the entire Ultraman Zero saga, and the like will be on a different list... unless I changed my end and someone convinced me to cover all Tsuburaya produced Ultraman titles in this single post.
  • This list only includes all Japanese tokusatsu productions, in short, I disregard the American, Australian, Chinese and Thai productions.
  • Special thanks to Captain B$Money for the help in this one.
