Voice actress Hiromi Tsuru, best known to most fans as Dragon Ball's Bulma passed away last November 16th due to aortic dissection. She was 57.
The police found the voice actress unconscious with the seat belt fastened in the car's driver's seat, which was stopped with hazard lights on at the Shuto Expressway's Inner Circular Route in Tokyo's Chuo ward at around 7:30pm last Thursday. She was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. The police note that there were no signs of an accident and have suspected death by illness.
Tsuru debuted as a voice actress in the 70's as Perrine Paindavoine from The Story of Perrine. Her other notable roles include: Soreike! Anpanman's Dokin-chan, Ranma 1/2's Ukyo Kuonji, Metal Gear Solid franchise's Naomi Hunter, and Tekken franchise's Julia Chang, and The Animatrix's Trinity. For tokusatsu fans, she voiced Kamen Rider OOO's female Pteranodon Yummy, Engine Sentai Go-Onger's Shower Banki, and Kamen Rider Agito the Movie: Project G4's Queen Ant Lord.
