It was reported that voice actress Fuyumi Shiraishi passed away recently. She was 82 years old.
The actress was discovered unconscious by a visiting relative after she had apparently fallen in her Setagaya home, where she lived alone. According to her family, she passed away due to ischemic heart failure.
Shiraishi is best known to most fans as Mobile Suit Gundam's Mirai Yashima/Noa, Space Runaway Ideon's Kasha Imhof, Kyojin no Hoshi's Akiko Hoshi, 1968 Cyborg 009 anime's 001, Ashita no Joe's Sachi, and Obake no Q-Taro's Doronpa. To tokusatsu fans, she's the voice of Ultraman Taro's Taishoh.
