It was reported that voice actor Hiroshi Masuoka has passed away last March 21st. He was 83 years old.
The voice actor passed away due to rectal cancer, with his relatives holding a private wake and funeral for him. In accordance to Masuoka's wishes, there will be no public memorial services.
Masuoka is best known to most fans as Sazae-san's Masuo, Soreike! Anpanman's Jam Ojisan, Dragon Ball's Kame Sennin, Cyborg 009's 005, Voltes V's General Oka, and did a lot of narration work in a lot of productions. For tokusatsu fans, he played a lot of monsters of the week for the Super Sentai Series since Himitsu Sentai Goranger, but his most notable role in the franchise was the narrator of Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger and the voice of Gao God in said series.
