Kyoto Animation has unveiled the teaser trailer for the upcoming Violet Evergarden film, alongside with the announcement of a new side story.
The side story titled, "Violet Evergarden Side Story: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll" will tell "another story" and will run in Japanese theaters from September 6th to the 19th. Violet Evergarden TV anime series director Haruka Fujita returns to direct the side story.
The upcoming film will take place several years after the end of the war, and the world is becoming more peaceful. One day, Violet finds a certain letter. The upcoming film is directed by Taichi Ishidate with scripts written by Reiko Yoshida. Akiko Takase is once again serve as the character designer and chief animation director and Evan Call will compose the film's music.
Violet Evergarden the Movie is set for a January 10, 2020 release in Japan.
