It was reported that veteran actress Sumie Sasaki, best known to most fans as Hana Yori Dango's Tama passed away. She was 90.
Born on June 22, 1928, she originally debuted as a stage actress before appearing in various TV shows and movies. She reprised the role of Tama in the Hana Yori Dango sequel series, Hana Nochi Hare.
Outside of Hana Yori Dango, she best known for her roles in classic Japanese films such as A Chain of Islands, The Insect Woman, and Miyuki. For tokusatsu fans, she appeared in Kamen Rider Decade's 16th and 17th episode as Kamen Rider Kabuto's grandmother.
