Premium Bandai posted the official images of the Kaiju Kikou King Joe STORAGE Custom from the Ultraman Z TV series.
The Kaiju Kikou line is a new high end figure series, which reproduces various monsters that appear in various tokusatsu works by transforming and combining them into attractive gimmicks. That said, the item stands 170mm tall and is composed of four components, namely: Core Ship, Head Fighter, Breast Tank, and Leg Carrier that can combine into a robot called King Joe or into a tank. It also features brand new modeling compared to the original DX toy and adds a new light up gimmick, which is not available in the DX toy.
Because it features brand new modeling, the range of movement of this figure has been greatly improved. Movable points have been added to the elbow of the right arm (Pedanium Launcher) and the right of the left arm (Pedanium Hammer), making it possible to do the poses that were not possible in the DX toy. In addition, by mounting the ball joint on the ankle, it is now possible for it to stand like a robot.
The new gimmick features multiple LED lights installed in the body, thus allowing you to reproduce a lot of the light up scenes in the series. When it comes to audio gimmick, it has various lines coming from Haruki Natsukawa (played by Kohshu Hirano) and Yoko Nakashima (played by Rima Matsuda), the two members of STORAGE that primarily pilot in the series. It also has various function sounds such as sortie sounds, attack sounds, and the noises it makes in its three different modes, namely: Robot Mode, Separate Mode, and Tank Mode.
This Premium Bandai web exclusive item cost 19,800 yen and is set for an October release. Pre-orders will end on July 25th.
