Tsuburaya announced at the Tsuburaya Convention 2021 event that Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga will get his own film titled Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z.
Taking place two years after the events of the TV series, the world is at peace, but this peace didn't stay long as monsters once again begin to appear across the globe. While this is happening, mysterious break-ins take place at super ancient ruins around the world. The expert team GUTS-Select, now led by their new captain (played by Kamen Rider Den-O's Yuichi Nakamura) prepares the squad to launch an investigation. Little do they know, it is the beginning of a fierce battle with the fate of the universe in the balance.
GUTS-Select and Haruki Natsukawa/Ultraman Z rush into battle with our hero, Kengo Manaka/Ultraman Trigger in the lead. A sinister figure emerges from the shadows: Evil Trigger, a sinister giant that inherits the shadows. To make everyone smile again, Ultraman Trigger and Ultraman Z join forces with the new members of GUTS-Select, as well as Ignis/Trigger Dark in this ultimate battle between light and shadow!
Written by Toshizo Nemoto (Ultraman Geed the Movie: Connect the Wishes!) and directed by Masayoshi Takesue (Ultraman R/B the Movie: Select! The Crystal of Bond), the film is set to premiere this March 18, 2022 in Japanese theaters, and on Tsuburaya's streaming service, Tsuburaya Imagination. Lastly, the film's theme song is titled "Believer" by Kengo Manaka (Raiga Terasaka), Yuna Shizuma (Runa Toyoda), and Akito Hijiri (Shunya Kaneko).
