Ultraman Decker's First Official Teaser Trailer, Additional Details Revealed

After it was first revealed in Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z film as a post-credits scene, Tsuburaya has officially announced Ultraman Decker with a brand new teaser trailer, and more details about the series.

​This year marks the 25th anniversary of Ultraman Dyna, and its essence is brought into this new series with a lot of similar elements, with Ultraman Decker being a direct sequel to Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga, and Ultraman Decker's forms being based on Ultraman Dyna's. 

​Taking place several years after the events of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga, in a time when the threat of monster attacks faded, and the Earth seems once again at peace. Humanity turns its eyes to the stars and heads to space, while its monster attack countermeasures continue to shrink.

The new TV series Ultraman Decker is a story of new hero Ultraman Decker who never gives up the fight, and the coming-of-age drama of the young adults in the newly-reformed expert team GUTS-Select as they grow together as a team, moving ever forwards to a future filled with hope. It is then a new threat emerged called "Sphere", an invading swarm of mysterious floating space objects begin to attack Earth. Humanity loses contact with space and becomes a lone star. 

We then meet 20-year-old Kanata Asumi (played by Hiroki Matsumoto) who is living a peaceful life and is working at his father's rice cracker store. Cheerful and a little goofy, this kind-hearted young man is close to their neighbors and regular customers, and cares for others. He never ignores someone in need, and sometimes goes overboard, throwing his heart and soul into whatever task is before him. But his peaceful life changed because of the Sphere attack. Destruction spreads before his eyes and a giant monster appears. With no heed for his own safety, Kanata jumps in front of the enemy, and transforms into Ultraman Decker! 

Having discovered the light of Decker within himself, Kanata pledges to protect humanity and joins the expert team GUTS-Select, now newly reformed by the Terrestrial Peaceable Union (TPU) as an Anti-Sphere squad. As its newest member, Kanata and his young unseasoned team stand against these great enemies together. 

Ultraman Decker is 55m tall, and weighs 45,000 tons. Just like Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Decker can Type Change into three different forms. These forms are: 

• Flash Type - Ultraman Decker's basic form. He transforms by loading its card to the Ultra D Flasher transformer item and shouts "Shine Bright! Flash!" to transform. His special move is the Selgent Beam, which is fired by crossing both arms. 
  
• Strong Type - Ultraman Decker's physically strong form best suited for physical strength. He shouts "Burst Forth! Strong!" to Type Change. His special move is the Dolnade Breaker, a powerful punch with energy focused in Decker's right fist.
  
• Miracle Type - Ultraman Decker's supernaturally powerful form best suited for psychokinetic attacks. He shouts "Leap Out! Miracle!" to Type Change. His special move is the Realiut Wave, a powerful shockwave made by a black hole that Decker forms by condensing space itself in his right hand.

Kanata transforms into Ultraman Decker using the Ultra D Flasher, which has a motif similar to Decker's face that is engraved in the base, and has a crystal embedded on top. By using the Ultra Dimension Cards that suddenly appeared in Kanata's hands, he can transform into Flash Type, as well as Type Change into Strong and Miracle Types. In addition, he can use specific one-time support attacks by loading various Dimension Cards into the device.

Written by Toshizo Nemoto (Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial) and directed by Masayoshi Takesue (Ultraman R/B), Ultraman Decker is set to premiere on July 9th on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
