The official Tsuburaya Productions YouTube channel posted the Tokyo Comic Con 2017 stage digest & teaser for the upcoming ULTRAMAN anime.
The project will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) with Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Sola Digital Arts (Appleseed Alpha) producing this 3D CG anime.
The anime takes place after the events of the original Ultraman TV series and ignores all the Ultraman shows and/or spin-offs that take place after it, namely Ultra Seven-present. The series follows Shinjiro Hayata, the son of the original Ultraman host, Shin Hayata who was inherited his father's "Ultraman Factor", which gives him superhuman abilities. With new alien threats rising, he dons an armor and becomes ULTRAMAN!
ULTRAMAN is set for a 2019 release. Details such as if it is an anime series or a film are yet to be revealed.
