It was reported that Tsuburaya Productions' optical photographer and visual effects technician Minoru Nakano has passed away. He was 82 years old.
Nakano passed away due to liver failure. His funeral service will only be for close relatives with his eldest son, Ryu being the chief mourner.
Born in Tokyo, he worked for nearly 30 years at Tsuburaya Productions and was a disciple of the company's founder Eiji Tsuburaya. He is best known for his optical work on Alien Baltan from the original Ultraman series. Aside from the original Ultraman, he also worked on Ultra Q, Monsters Booska, Ultraseven, and Mighty Jack.
