Nintendo and Illumination has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie, as well as its Japanese dub cast.
The Japanese dub of the film stars Mamoru Miyano (Ultraman Zero, Death Note) as Mario, Arisa Shida (Blade Runner: Black Lotus) as Peach, Tasuku Hatanaka (Ultraman Z) as Luigi, Kenta Miyake (My Hero Academia, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) as Bowser, and Tomokazu Seki (Fate Series, Mobile Fighter G Gundam) as Toad.
Based on Nintendo's long running video game series of the same name, the film will star Chris Pratt (The Guardians of the Galaxy) as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy (Queen's Gambit) as Princess Peach, Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Luigi, Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda) as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) as Toad, Seth Rogen (This Is the End) as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live) as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman) as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco (The Irishman) as Spike. Long time Super Mario series voice actor, Charles Martinet will have a role in the movie as well.
Produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, the film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) and is written by Matthew Fogel (Minions: The Rise of Gru).
