Nintendo has unveiled at today's special E3 2018 Nintendo Direct more details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game for the Nintendo Switch.
It is confirmed that every single playable character that appeared in the Super Smash Bros. Series, including third party characters, are all playable in the game! To put it simply, characters that appeared in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U plus the following returning characters: Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake, Ice Climbers, Pokémon's Pokémon Trainer (both male and female) and his/her team of Pokémon (Squirtle, Ivysaur & Charizard), Pokémon's Pichu, Star Fox's Wolf O'Donnell, and The Legend of Zelda's Young Link are all returning in the game!
In addition to these returning characters, the presentation also revealed new features for the game, and the introduction of Echo Fighters, characters that are basically clones of a character with some minor differences, notable Echo Characters include Fire Emblem's Lucina and Kid Icarus' Dark Pit. The presentation also introduced a new Echo Character, Super Mario's Daisy. The presentation also revealed the changes made to some of the characters as well as the returning and new features for the game.
Finally, the presentation ends with the confirmation that Metroid's Ridley is playable in the game. A highly requested character by fans, this is his first Super Smash Bros. appearance. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set for a December 7th release only for the Nintendo Switch.
