Power Rangers Dino Fury producer Simon Bennett has confirmed in a tweet the original plans for the series, particularly in regards to its original length.
He revealed that Dino Fury was supposed to be a 22-episode TV series, confirming that the series was supposed to end the same year the franchise's contract with Nickelodeon ended. So when the series was picked up to become a 44-episode series, they need to write more episodes to "plug the gaps", while the overall structure remained the same.
Bennett apologized in advance if some episodes will seem like filler. He also confirmed that Season 2 will have no holiday specials like previous Power Rangers seasons. That said, the series was confirmed to be a 44-episode series back 2020, so most likely the deal with Netflix was finalized around or before that period, causing the second season to exclusively premiere on the streaming platform.
