Nintendo has finally unveiled their next home console formerly known under the code name NX. This new console is the Nintendo Switch!
As seen in the console's launch trailer, the new Nintendo Switch allows you to play games both at home or somewhere else outside your home as this console can transform into a handheld device! At home, the the Nintendo Switch is resting in the Nintendo Switch Dock, which connects the system to the TV and allows you and your family and friends to play games at the comfort of your living room.
The Nintendo Switch can go portable by removing the detachable Joy-Con controllers attached in the Joy-Con Grip accessory and attach it to the Nintendo Switch, turning this tablet-like console into a portable gaming device. Unlike Nintendo's past handheld consoles, the portable version of the Switch features bright HD display, and the ability to play multiplayer games on the go thanks to its Joy-Con controllers serving as two controllers for the game. More on the controllers, if you find the Joy-Con controllers too small, Nintendo will also release a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for better multiplayer experience.
Also unveiled in the trailer is that it will use cartridges, something Nintendo hasn't done to their home consoles since the Nintendo 64, which was released over 20 years ago. The trailer also unveiled some of the games that you can play the console. Some of these games are: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a new Splatoon game, a new Mario Kart game, a new Super Mario game, a NBA game, and game by Bethesda.
More on the games, the press release also revealed some of the third party developers for the said console. Some of those developers are: Bethesda (Skyrim), Capcom (Street Fighter), FromSoftware (Dark Souls), Platinum Games (Bayonetta), Konami (Metal Gear Solid), Sega (Sonic the Hedgehog), Square Enix (Final Fantasy), Telltale Games (The Wolf Among Us), and Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed).
Nintendo Switch is set for a March 2017 release. More games and details of the console will be revealed before the game's launch.
