It was announced that the sequel to Etsushi Ogawa's Cooking Master Boy manga, New Cooking Master Boy will get an anime adaptation.
The original series takes place in 19th century China and follows Liu Mao Xing, a young chef who goes on a journey to become a Super Chef and along the way, battles the Dark Cooking Society. In addition to this announcement, the character designs for Mei Li, Mao, and Shirou were also revealed.
The upcoming series is directed by Itsuro Kawasaki (The Legend of Legendary Heroes), who will also oversee the scripts, the series will feature character designs by Saki Hasegawa (Flip Flappers), and finally, the anime will be produced by NAS and Production I.G. The series was previously adapted into a 52-episode anime series back in 1997 and a Chinese drama back in 2005. Details about the new anime's release is yet to be announced.
