The official City Hunter franchise Twitter account announced the official title as well as revealed new details for the upcoming "final chapter" anime film.
Like the previous film, City Hunter the Movie: Shinjuku Private Eyes, the film also has "Get Wild" by TM Network as the film's theme song.
Titled "City Hunter the Movie: Angel Dust", this film is released to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the anime. The upcoming film will revolve around Ryo Saeba's past and the death of his old partner, Hideyuki Makimura. It will also revolve around Angel Dust, which was an important aspect of the original series.
The cast from the TV series will reprise their roles from the upcoming film, namely: Akira Kamiya as Ryo Saeba, Kazue Ikura as Kaori Makimura, Harumi Ichiryusai as Saeko Nogami, Tessho Genda as Umibozu, and Mami Koyama as Miki.
Sunrise returns to animate the film, and joining them with the project is The Answer Studio Co., Ltd. (Armored Trooper Votoms, Golgo 13) In addition, City Hunter franchise director Kenji Kodama is directing the new film with scripts written by Yasuyuki Muto (Deadman Wonderland). The film is set to premiere this fall in Japan.
