Netflix posted the official trailer for the live-action From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke series. The trailer features the show's theme song, "Ai no Uta" (Love Song) by Takaya Kawasaki.
The upcoming series stars Sara Minami (Ride or Die) and Oji Suzuka (live-action Horimiya) as Sawaka Kuronuma and Shota Kazahaya respectively. This is the second live-action adaptation of the manga, the first being a movie back in 2010 starring Mikako Tabe and Haruma Miura as said roles.
The manga follows the story of Sawaka Kuronuma, who was nicknamed Sadako from The Ring series due to her long black hair and pale skin making her look gloomy. Popular kid Shota Kazahaya builds a friendship woth her, which later blossomed into romance.
A joint production between TV Tokyo and Netflix, the series will feature scripts written by Hayato Miyamoto, and is directed by Takehiko Shinjo (live-action Your Lie in April) and Takeo Kikuchi (live-action Tokyo Alice). The series is set to premiere worldwide exclusively on Netflix this March 30th.
