Netflix announced that the classic Gainax anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion is coming to the streaming service next year!
Aside from the 26-episode TV series, the series' two feature films, The End of Evangelion and Evangelion: Death (True)2 will also stream in the service as well. This is the first time the series is legally available in a worldwide streaming service.
Taking place in the year 2015, 15 years after a worldwide cataclysm took place, the series follows Shinji Ikari, a teenage boy recruited by his father, a member of a shadowy organization called Nerv to pilot giant bio-machine mecha called "Evangelion" to fight alien beings called "Angels".
Neon Genesis Evangelion will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide starting in Spring 2019.
