The official website for the upcoming Medabots 9: Kabuto ver./Kuwagata ver. game for the 3DS is now open, revealing the first trailer, and the story of the game.
Taking place in an academy on an isolated island, the game will feature 290 different Medabots, the largest in the franchise's history. More on that, the game's Robattle system has been modified and now feature the ability to swap parts in the middle of combat.
The game focuses on Tenma Wakakoma who doesn't get along with his Medabot. While walking home depressed after a fight with his Medabot, he encounters a group known as the Roborobo Team and teams up with a mysterious Medabot to defeat the group. Thanks to this, he's invited to study in Medabot Academy in a scholarship. He accepts and joins the academy.
Once a large Medalia mine, now exhausted, it is now an institution for the richest and most influencial Medabot battlers. Even if that's the case, there are rumors about a large Medalia vain that remains undiscovered in the school as Tenma journey to uncover the academy's secrets.
Medabots 9 is set for a December 24 release only for the 3DS.
