Toei has officially unveiled the 42nd Super Sentai Series, Kaito Sentai Lupinranger vs. Keisatsu Sentai Patoranger to the public, revealing the show's synopsis and staff.
As previously reported, the Lupinranger are phantom thieves while the Patoranger are police officers and members of the International Special Police. This is the first time in the history of the franchise that two Super Sentai teams are active at the same time. The two teams sometimes clash and sometimes work together as these two have their own agenda.
The Lupinranger fight to regain an important person lost in the past, while the Patoranger figths for justice and an ideal future. The series is focused around the Lupin Collection, items that were gathered by the legendary thief himself, Arsène Lupin. These items can enable the prosperity of the human race or its total destruction. A three-way struggle against the enemy Gangler begins.

The Patoranger are composed of Patoren #1, who leads Patoren #2 (green), and Patoren #3 (pink), who is a serious police officer aiming for a zero crime rate.
The series is written by Junko Komura (Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger, Kamen Rider Wizard) with Takaaki Utsumoniya (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Ressha Sentai ToQGer, Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger) serving as the show's head producer. The series is to premiere on February 11, 2018, replacing Uchu Sentai Kyuranger in TV-Asahi's Superhero Time block at 9:30am. Lastly, Toei has opened the show's production website and Twitter account. Expect more information to revealed in those platforms.
