TOHO posted the opening sequence for the upcoming Lupin III THE FIRST CGI anime film.
In the upcoming film, Lupin teams up with a woman named Leticia (played by Chihayafuru Film Trilogy's Suzu Hirose) to steal the Bresson Diary, a treasure that even the fist generation Arsène Lupin couldn't steal. The current Lupin III cast will reprise their roles in the upcoming film. Also part of the film's cast are: Kotaro Yoshida (Ossan's Love, Dragon Quest: Your Story) as Lambert, and Tatsuya Fujiwara (Death Note, Battle Royale) as Geralt.
Even though Lupin III creator Monkey Punch passed away last April 11th, the film's official website posted a message coming from the creator, which expressed his excitement for the new film. The creator is excited to to see on how this fresh take on his characters would turn out.
Featuring the tagline "Well, let's get started", the film is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki (Stand By Me Doraemon, Dragon Quest: Your Story). Lupin III THE FIRST is set for a December 6th release in Japan.
