The official live-action Your Lie in April film website posted the trailer for the upcoming film. The trailer features the film's theme song "Last Scene" by Ikimono-gakari.
The film follows two high school students Kousei and Kaori. Kousei, a former child prodigy lost his ability to play the piano when his mother died. Everything changed when he meets Kaori, a female violinist by chance.
The film stars Kento Yamazaki (Death Note JDrama) as Kousei Arima and Suzu Hirose (live-action Chihayafuru films) as Kaori Miyazono. Both actors practiced playing the piano and violin about half a year before the start of filming. Also starring in the film are: E-girls member Anna Ishii as Tsubaki Sawabe, and Taishi Nakagawa (Ao Oni ver.2.0) as Ryota Watari.
The film is directed by Takehiko Shinjou (Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu) with scripts written by Yukari Tatsui (Strawberry Night JDrama), and music composed by Ryo Yoshimata. The film is set for a September 10 release in Japan.
