The official Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie website announced that actress Keiko Kitagawa will join the film's cast as Sailor Cosmos.
For fans of the franchise, Kitagawa is best known for playing Rei Hino/Sailor Mars in the live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon TV series. The project also happens to be her acting debut role.
The upcoming film adapts the manga's Shadow Galactica Arc, which is the final arc of the series, and is split into parts with part one premiering last June 9th, and part two on June 30th.
The films are animated by Toei Animation and is directed by Tomoya Takahashi (Gatchama Crowds) and written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Land of the Lustrous). Kazuko Tadano, who was the character designer of the orignal Sailor Moon anime returns to work on the films, and Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuden) returns to compose the music. Lastly, Yumiko Soraga are the films' art director.
