Amazon and Toei announced that Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's Oshi no Ko manga will get a live-action series and film adaptation.
The series and film will star former =LOVE member Nagisa Saito as Ruby, former Nogizaka46 member Asuka Saito (live-action Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) as Ai, and Kaito Sakurai (live-action Blue Spring Ride) as Aqua. Also part of the cast are: Nanoka Hara (Suzume) as Kana Arima, Mizuka Kayashima (Kyouso no Musume) as Akane Kurokawa, and ano (Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction) as Memcho.
Based on the manga with the same name by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, the series starts with Goro, a gynecologist and idol fan who was surprised that his favorite idol, Ai announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Goro realize that he's about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense.
The live-action Oshi no Ko series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video worldwide in winter 2024, and with Toei releasing the film in theaters.
